This clip of Movies Games and Videos was shown on a Saturday dinner time after the ITV Chart Show in 1993. Here we see clips of the top science fiction shows of the day that were also a huge commercial success in the shops. Space: 1999 starring Martin Landau was almost the final Gerry Anderson series, until he was brought back to television by public demand to make Terrahawks. Red Dwarf was also hugely popular with the ladies, since the humour of this sitcom didn’t shy away from the anti-social antics of Rimmer or the narcissism of Cat. Moonbase 3 was made in a season break of 1970’s Doctor Who by the then production team of Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks, being very reminiscent of their main series, and also leading to Terrance Dicks penning an episode of Space: 1999!! (Patrick Troughton also appeared in Space: 1999). Finally, Doctor Who itself, this time the Peter Davison being verbally dusted off by his strong female companion Tegan Jovanka, about his inability to get her back to Heathrow. Most of these shows are still available.
